WHY DON'T WE HONOR OUR OWN HEROES ?

PEACE 2 ALL AFRIKAN PEOPLES & DEATH 2 ALL ENEMIES OF AFRIKA !!!

I was sitting here on this so-called Memorial Day, watching people celebrate when a thought occurred to me. When exactly do Black people either in America or even in Afrika celebrate & memorialize their great Warriors. When U think about it, we don't. In America we celebrate soldiers who have fought for the maintenance of this system of white Domination. I don't care what war the person died in, they fought to maintain the current system of rulership. The powers that be like to tell the citizenry that these soldiers died protecting their freedoms. This, of course, is a lie. No country on Earth has the military might to deny any rights to any person living in America. Not only that, but none has even threatened such in my lifetime with the possible exception of North Korea. I say possible because I don't speak Korean so I don't know what they said, and neither do most of you.
Here's my point, Europeans usually glorify people who have had a hand in murdering Afrkans & other original people. We should therefore, out of respect 4 our ancestors, not follow their lead. We should be honoring and glorifying our own Sheroes & Heroes. I remember when I met a local legend who helped found a Black Panther Party Chapter in DC. This Brother is telling stories of their struggles for freedom for people like myself who hadn't even been born yet. As he spoke, I thought damn, I bet people walk past him everyday & don't even know who he is. Black people are talking about war veterans & don't know a damn thing about our Race Warriors who fought & died right here in America.
We have brothers like Russell Maroon Shoatz & Marshall Eddie Conway who have been locked up for years because they fought 4 the liberation of Afrikan people. We all know about some of our martyrs like Malcolm X, but most forget about people like Mark Clark, Alprentice"Bunchy" Carter & John Huggins. The list of Afrikan freedom fighters & martyrs goes on infinitum. These are the people we should be teaching our children about & making holidays & memorials for. Until we begin to recognize those who have fought, bled & died for Black people, we will get no respect from any other people on Earth. Black people look absolutely ridiculous mourning & crying over people who died fighting for our enemies. If we can cry over those people, then we need to take some time out to mourn the loss of our own Warriors. Their deaths were just as valiant, their causes just as just, & their lives just as valuable as those lost fighting for the United States of America.
So while you are out & about celebrating this weekend, take some time out to think about your ancestors. Research freedom movements like the UNIA, the Afrikan Blood Brotherhood, The Black Liberation Army & other groups who fought for our rights. Let those other people celebrate America & let us learn to celebrate ourselves.
